Call for Erasmus+ KA171 Student Mobilities at Universidad de León for University of Yaoundé I Hortense until 07 December 2025

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program (Key Action 171) the Universidad de León has been the beneficiary of a

grant destined to finance mobility stays during the 2025/2026 academic year. Under the 2023-1-ES01-KA171-HED-000138797 project and in partnership with the University of Yaoundé 1 (Cameroon), the Vice Rectorate for

Internationalization and Global Engagement of the Universidad de León offers 1 grant for students from University of

Yaoundé 1 to study at the Universidad de León.

Requirements

  • Be nationals of and current residents in Cameroon
  • Applicants must be regularly enrolled in the academic year 2025/2026 at the University of Yaoundé 1 in
  • the second or third year of a PhD course, with administrative headquarters in the Faculty de Medicine and
  • Biomedicals Sciences (FMBS) de Yaoundé.
  • Be in possession of an acceptance letter/email from the tutor/supervisor with whom the work program will be undertaken in Universidad de León (ULE). This document is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Spanish / English at level B1 is essential.
  • Mobility must be complete before end of July 2026.
  • Language competency of Spanish/English at level B1 is essential but not mandatory.
  • Beneficiaries will need to take an accident and emergency insurance that covers the duration of their mobility, it is recommend to take the on campus insurance for extensive coverage: https://oncampus.es/en/seguros/oncampus-estudia/
  • Submit all information in French or English only.

N.B: visa procedures will be under the responsibility and expense of the PhD student.

Financial support

The grant mobility will be financed as follows:

  • Individual support: 850 € per month (up to a maximum of 5 months)
  • Travel expenses: 820 €.

In addition, for the selected beneficiary there is an additional grant of €250 per month for students with fewer

opportunities (provided that the home university communicates this at the time of nomination).

Time

The period of stay comprises a minimum of 3 months and up to a maximum of 5 months.

Applications Procedure

Applications for this Call must be completed and submitted exclusively online. The online application is available from

10 November 5pm until 07 December 2025 at midnight (Yaoundé time) on the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedicals

Sciences (FMBS) website: https://www.fmsb.uninet.cm/.

Within two weeks of submitting the online application, candidates will receive an email from the FMBS Office

confirming whether their application has been approve or not.

Interested doctoral students must complete the application form/mobility study research proposal available on the

FMBS website, filling in all the required fields and sections including submitting:

 Curriculum Vitae (dated and signed)

 Proof of Enrolment (PhD)

 Motivation letter

 Letter of recommendation signed by the PhD Supervisor

 Letter/email of an acceptance from the tutor/supervisor with whom the work programme will be undertaken in

ULE.

 Self-declaration of participant with fewer opportunities

From 10 November 5pm until 07 December 2025 at midnight. (Yaoundé time)

Valorisation scale and selection criteria

The recognition of activities carried out abroad will be at the discretion of the PhD programme, which will provide

further information to the selected PhD students.

The selection committee will decide on a ranking taking into account the evaluation criteria specified below:

  •  Quality of the study plan: 25 points
  •  Language skills: 10 points
  •  Academic Merit:30 points
  •  Motivational letter:30 points
  •  Thesis Proposal 5 points
  •  FMBS bonus for those how have participated in VIU academic programs  15 points

Selection and adjudication

The Selection Committee for the adjudication of the mobility will be formed by:

The Dean of FMSB, the vice Dean in charge of Research and Cooperation and the Head of Division of Academic

Affairs, Education and Research.

Please Read This Before Applying:

1 – Applicants should provide the name and contact details of an academic supervisor in ULE who will supervise their

work during their stay abroad. If you do not have any contacts, we suggest you visit the website of ULE

https://www.unileon.es

2 – All applicants are requested to provide a letter/e-mail of acceptance (to be submitted together with your application)

written by the academic supervisor from ULE. The letter should state that the supervisor is willing to work with you in

case you obtain the scholarship.

4 – Please fill in your application form only when you have all the data available (i.e. name of and letter of acceptance

by supervisor at ULE.). Incomplete applications will be rejected, no exceptions will be made.

5 – The dates of your stay should be agreed upon between the applicant and the academic supervisor at ULE.

Typically, this will be during the academic year 2025/2026.
